A soft place to land
Compassion first, judgment never. Show up exactly as you are — tired, tangled, unsure — and be met there.
About Maggie Stevenson, LCSW
Therapy works best when you feel safe, seen, and respected. Maggie brings warmth, clinical depth, and a grounded presence to each session.
“A compassionate guide on your healing journey.”
The story behind the practice
Maggie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with over ten years of experience in the mental health field. Before opening Alpine Clarity Counseling, she completed 4,000 hours of supervised clinical work and practiced in settings where therapy has to meet people exactly where they are:
Where she learned that good therapy starts with respect, not paperwork.
Supporting people through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
Meeting people in their own communities, on their own terms.
Where all of it comes together — unhurried, personal, one-on-one work.

What working together feels like
Compassion first, judgment never. Show up exactly as you are — tired, tangled, unsure — and be met there.
You set the pace and the direction. Maggie climbs alongside you — never ahead of you, never behind.
Every session ends with something you can actually use on the days between sessions.
Therapy is a space to understand your patterns, reconnect with your strengths, and create new ways of relating to yourself and others. Maggie believes healing is both deeply personal and deeply practical — and it often starts with the words we use about ourselves.

In her own words
Personal experiences with life’s transitions, anxiety, depression, addiction, and grief have deepened my empathy and understanding for what you might be going through. I’ve navigated loss, grief, and the process of healing — and I’m here to help you do the same.
— Maggie
Beyond the office
Therapy is my work, not my whole story. Here’s a little of what keeps me grounded when I’m not in the room.
Happiest outside
Beyond my professional life I’m an outdoor enthusiast — a backpacker, a sailor, and a devoted student of Colorado’s high country. Time outside isn’t an escape from the work; it’s how I stay steady enough to do it.
Patience, practiced
Fly fishing has taught me more about presence than any textbook — you can’t rush a river. That same patience and attention come back with me into every session.
Growth, practiced daily
At home it’s dahlias in the garden and a new experiment in mushroom cultivation. Self-growth is a commitment I’ve made to myself — it’s what lets me show up as my best for the people I serve.
Credentials
Behind the grounded presence is a decade of rigorous clinical education, supervision, and practice.
